Abstract
Small businesses are increasingly implementing automation and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in order to achieve growth and competitiveness in the modern business landscape. These technologies have many benefits, such as increased efficiency, reduced costs, better decision-making, and a better customer experience. Even though automation and AI technologies have many benefits, many small businesses still have trouble with them. These challenges can include resistance to change within the organization, as well as technical difficulties such as integration and interoperability issues. In this chapter, we will explore four major challenges that small businesses face when implementing automation and AI technologies: resistance to change, integration and interoperability, data management and privacy concerns, and skills and training requirements. If these challenges are not addressed effectively, they can lead to delays, increased costs, and even complete failure of automation and AI projects.
